New online courses from Orbis international

Orbis International has launched three new courses on their telemedicine platform, Cybersight.org, which is free to anyone who registers. The courses are:

Fundamentals in Manual Small-Incision Cataract Surgery (MSICS) Fundamentals of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Ophthalmic Nursing Fundamentals.

Each course is designed to cover the fundamentals of the topic and builds knowledge through a series of sequential modules. Learners can choose to complete a specific module or all modules in a course for a certificate. These courses combine narrative, medical art and images, demonstrations and surgical videos to optimise the learning experience. They also include downloadable articles, guidelines and practice manuals for reference.

Full blended-learning curricula are available for each course, which allow educators and residency programme directors to combine the online content with in-person, hands-on skills training sessions. Orbis plans to continue with the development of new courses, with Fundamentals in Phacoemulsification and Fundamentals in Glaucoma allotted for 2018. For any questions on the courses, contact Amelia Geary – Director, Program Development & Quality at [email protected].

Visit www.cybersight.org to register and access the courses.
