A discussion group of the African Ophthalmology Forum which was set up in 2011 to enable ophthalmologists to exchange best practices on how to address the challenges faced by the profession to meet VISION 2020 objectives in Africa.

Discussion topics include:

– Leadership in Ophthalmology in Africa – Interesting/difficult clinical cases – Disease control – Ophthalmology Society Development – Sub-specialties – Accreditations – CPD – Group Practices – Operational research – How to write scientific papers – Advocacy – Health Systems – Announcements (training opportunities, meetings etc.)

All African ophthalmologists at home or in the diaspora, as well as other ophthalmologists interested in the practice of ophthalmology in Africa are invited to join in.
